Fulfilled Living Limited
I am writing to you to formally introduce myself and the organisation that I represent. My name is Adam Ferris and I am the Home Manager of Jabulani, a Residential service open in Hadfield, Glossop supporting young adults with learning disabilities and/ or associated complex needs. Jabulani is situated in Hadfield, Glossop and has the ability to offer accommodation and support to eleven young people, all of whom share a need for intensive staffing levels and high support needs due their vulnerability, communication needs, health concerns and desire to live a fulfilling life. Living as independently as possible we recognise many of the individuals will need support with all aspects of personal care, daily living and with any activities/ leisure pursuits.
The service is staffed twenty four hours a day with a staffing ratio that represents the needs of the individuals living within it, this will include appropriate staff on the premises at night. The model of support we are offering is Residential Care using a person centred approach to all the aspects of the care and support we provide, all individuals will have their own en suite bedroom and have the rights and responsibilities that this represents.
Our thorough assessment process helps us to formulate a person centred plan of care which will include goals and targets not only for the people that we support but the staff team providing the support. Included within the support plan is an individual plan which helps promote a persons community presence and personal aspirations. During the day each individual has their own individual plan of activities designed around need, aspiration and capabilities which are flexible according to health, moods and wishes on the particular day. We believe in nurturing peoples skills and supporting individuals by building relationships based on trust.
The home itself provides a thoughtful, sensitive environment, it has been decorated to an extremely high standard and can be adapted to meet individual needs and within their own room tastes, this does include manual handing devices, profiling beds, specialist flooring, a sensitively designed sensory room, as well as products to support peoples independence and maintain safety. The home also benefits from a 2 bedroom flat with an intercom service to the main property. We take great pride in how we care for people with Learning Disabilities and ensure that the individuals we support receive the best support, guidance and encouragement to achieve as much as possible.
