Good Practice

The Bridgewood Trust

Bridgewood Trust is a service built around individuals. It is a registered charity providing residential and day services, domiciliary support and short stay/respite care for people with learning disabilities. We are registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. We are a service built around you. You are unique, there is no one in the world the same as you, and that is where we begin. We will work with you to build up a person-centred plan which will help us to understand your needs, wants, goals and aspirations. Over time, as your lifestyle and experiences grow, your person centred plan will change with you, so it will always reflect how far you have come and what you want for your future. All our service users have learning disabilities; some have additional needs due to physical disabilities, sensory impairments, mental health or dementia issues. Our service users are 18 and over. We aim to offer choices, great support and to provide the general public with a positive image of learning disabilities. We hope to achieve this by respecting the differing strengths of service users and meeting their individual needs and preferences in a caring, supportive and professional manner. All service users have regular reviews to which their families and friends are invited. These reviews ensure that the service users are central to the planning of their support services.
